Personal Response
In my opinion Samak, the underling failed, so now it's the turn of the brother-in-law. Taksin needs someone he can trust to run his country while the minor setback of being a criminal in flight from justice gets taken care of. Who better to trust than blood family? After all, it is always the wife's remarkable business accumen that makes these low paid civil "servants" so incredibly wealthy. How fortunate of Taksin to have married into such a talented family. They all start as simple white uniformed "kha ratchagan" and wind up "Kha ngun", servants of money and greed. Perhaps it's time to see monks in the streets for more than binthabath, as was the case in Burma, to remind us that Thailand is still a Buddhist nation.
