The Inter-Governmental Group of Food & Agricultural Organisation (FAO), the Common Fund for Commodities (CFC) and The Tea Board of India have jointly the organic Tea development project. This project has objective about developing skills technology and system of organic production and export to internaltional market for make a profit and under this project have three components that is The Tea Board have send a package of farm practices which conform to do this project to cultivation.Towards 100 hectares have been given to the three tea estates in Coimbatore district in Tamil Nadu and some estates have a research team that research about organic tea over three years ago.
